The Ken Kennedy Institute is excited to announce the NorTex Data Science Cluster MeetUp. We look forward to hosting a group of Data Science researchers from Norwegian research institutions for a day of networking and conversations on Thursday, September 24th.
The overarching objective is to explore collaborative research opportunities and funding opportunities in the area of Data Science between groups in Texas and Norway. We have confirmed participants from Norway from the following institutions:
- University of Stavanger
- University of Agder
- Norwegian University of Science and Technology
- International Research Institute of Stavanger
- Global Center of Excellence NODE
Locally we have invited participants from Rice, University of Houston, UT Austin, TAMU, Texas Medical Center, as well as several industry partners that have expressed interest in engaging with Rice in and around Data Science.
This data science event will focus on conversations about Data Science, broadly defined, and topics of interest spans smart-cities, smart-homes, smart-health, education, energy, environment, security, data management, and other related topics.
This event is organized by the Ken Kennedy Institute at Rice University and supported by the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Houston.
